Quran & Hadith on Ribā

Declaration of War from Allah and His Messenger
"O you who believe! Fear Allah and give up what remains of ribā, if you are truly believers. And if you do not, then be informed of a war from Allah and His Messenger..."
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:278-279)
Ribā Destroys Wealth Spiritually
"Allah destroys ribā and gives increase for charity."
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:276)
All Participants Are Cursed
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"Allah has cursed the one who consumes ribā, the one who gives it, the one who writes it down, and the two who witness it." He said: "They are all the same."
(Sahih Muslim, 1598)
A Major Sin Worse than Zina in Some Cases
The Prophet ﷺ said:
"A dirham of ribā that a person consumes knowingly is worse than committing zina thirty-six times."

Duas to seek protection from ribā
Du'a for Protection from Unlawful Wealth
Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
Transliteration:
Allāhumma-kfinī bi-ḥalālika 'an ḥarāmik, wa aghninī bifaḍlika 'amman siwāk.
Meaning:
"O Allah, suffice me with what You have made lawful from what You have made unlawful, and enrich me by Your bounty from all besides You."

Du'a for Halāl Rizq
Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ رِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
Transliteration:
Allāhumma innī as'aluka rizqan ṭayyibā, wa 'ilman nāfi'ā, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalā.
Meaning:
"O Allah, I ask You for pure provision, beneficial knowledge, and accepted deeds."

Du'a for Protection from Poverty & Debt
Arabic:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالْفَقْرِ، وَمِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ
Transliteration:
Allāhumma innī a'ūdhu bika minal-kufri wal-faqr, wa min 'adhābil-qabr.
Meaning:
"O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief, poverty, and the punishment of the grave."
