Privacy Policy

We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the No Riba (Noriba) mobile application.

Account information: When you sign in, we collect the email address associated with your Firebase account (via Google sign-in or email and password). We do not collect bank login credentials or net-banking passwords.

Statement PDFs: You upload bank statement PDFs manually from your device. PDF files are processed on your device to extract interest amounts. Statement PDFs are not uploaded to our backend for extraction or storage.

Extracted statement data: After processing, we store statement metadata and results linked to your account, such as bank name, filename, upload date, interest date, extracted interest amount, and paid or unpaid status.

Optional PDF passwords: If you choose to save statement PDF open passwords, they are encrypted on your device before being sent to our backend. We do not store plaintext PDF passwords on our servers.

Bank preferences: You may enable or disable supported banks in Account Settings. This preference is stored with your account.

We use the information we collect to:

• Authenticate you and keep you signed in across devices • Process statement PDFs on your device using bank-specific interest matchers • Store and sync your interest summaries, paid status, and statement metadata • Store encrypted PDF passwords when you choose to save them for future uploads • Operate, maintain, and improve the app • Respond to your comments and questions

We use industry-standard measures to protect your account data, including Firebase Authentication and encrypted storage for saved PDF passwords. Statement PDFs remain on your device during processing. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not upload statement PDFs to third parties for extraction. Information may be processed by service providers needed to operate the app, such as Firebase (authentication and cloud storage) and Google (when you choose Google sign-in), or disclosed if required by law.

We retain your account information, interest summaries, statement metadata, and encrypted PDF passwords for as long as your account remains active. When you delete a statement, bank, saved password, or your entire account, the corresponding data is removed from our active systems. Residual copies may persist briefly in encrypted backups before being overwritten in the ordinary course of operations.

You may sign out at any time. You can delete individual banks or statements from the calculator, remove saved PDF passwords in Account Settings, or permanently delete your account from Account Settings. Deleting your account removes your interest summaries, saved PDF passwords, and Firebase authentication record associated with the app.

No Riba is not intended for anyone under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this page. Your continued use of our app constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
